From the Vault: Flamingo

T-minus 2 days!  I am outta here Monday, desert bound for Photoshop World Las Vegas.  Why not end the week with a little bit of old Vegas.  Sprinkled in with all the glamor of the new mega resorts is a little bit of the glitz of the old school.  At a time when the old hotels are starting to seem out of place with the new themed resorts and they are feeling run down, the Flamingo manages to stay classy.  You will see as many people staring and taking pictures of all this neon as you will people checking out the fountains at the Bellagio.

A reminder this weekend is the last major feast of the season in the North End.  The Feast of St. Anthony on Endicott and Thatcher Streets (around Pizzeria Regina).  Come find me marching along with the Procession of the Statue, not sure if I will be making it for the entire 10 hours of scheduled procession but I will be there for a large chunk of the day.
