Well my color theory series officially ended last Sunday with my photo of opening day at Fenway Park. It was a great experience to week by week have to look at the world for a particular color. I really had to start getting creative at the end when we had our 40 days of rain. This experiment has really opened my eyes to seeing the every day in Boston and I hope that it has done the same for all of you. Color is definitely an influence in our every day live, sure we see in color, but people actually, actively influence our choices in life with color. I see it everyday working in the architecture industry, we are always picking colors and materials to influence how someone that is going to inhabit our building is going to react. Marketing and ad agencies, do it in everything from the biggest budget Hollywood movie to the packaging that your gum comes in.
Again I hope your eyes are open, to not only how the outside world is influencing us, both naturally and man made, but I also hope that these exercises that you joined me on, help you capture this world of ours in a more unique and interesting way. Below is a slide show of all my photos from color theory. I will end by paraphrasing one of the great photographers of our time and a huge influence on me personally, Jay Maisel who always shows one particular slide in his lectures and simply asks this question, “How many of you see the word Fedex and how many of you see the arrow”
