Happy Opening Day!!!

Well after a rainout yesturday its finally opening day.  A few weeks ago a close friend of mine and my families died of cancer, he was like a second father to me taught me everything I knew about the game of baseball.  He was the GM and President of Wareham Gatemen Baseball in the Cape Cod League, his name was John Wylde.  He was  a person you could talk to for hours and it didnt even need to be about baseball, it just never got boring.  I will always remember the countless games as a kid, up in the pressbox learning how to score a baseball game, all the stratagies that went into it, going on the road with him to the different cape towns, scouting players at different local colleges in the spring time.  I got my start in photography photographing baseball games for the Wareham Gatemen, if it wasnt for John letting me on the field to take my first pictures and my Dad lending me his old film camera, I might not be a photographer today…

Well next week is John’s memorial service, so somehow, I think he convinced the Baseball God’s, the same ones that let me see two World Series titles in my life, to let it rain on opening day to give the city one more day of rest before the lunacy of Fenway Park and Red Sox Nation tear this neighborhood apart.
