this was my 30th Christmas this year! Pretty uneventful didnt even really feel all that Christmasie. I got my Dad Chase Jarvis’s Steven’s Pass book, which is a limited edition run of his ski photography. My mom got one of my prints which she has told me is her favorite photo that I have taken, its a night shot of Acorn Street in Beacon Hill. My Brother got a framed print of my Fenway at night shot. I got, from my parents, the funding for the new Canon 5D mark 2 when it comes back in stock. My brother got me a 580 EX 2 speedlite which rocks!
Now, some much needed lounging around and rest, except that I have to show my Mom how to use her new iMac, she has never used a Mac before and that was her present from my dad and brother. Sunday if the weather cooperates Brian Matiash and I will be photographing Cape Cod. Then on Monday we will be venturing up to Gloucester MA to photograph around the town and fishing piers. Should make for two full and tiring days of driving and shooting photos. I imagine most of the rest of the week will be editing photos. My New Years resolution is to get back into the habit of more traditional dodging and burning techniques rather than just saying oh let me run this through photomatix and get a tone mapped HDR out of it. But that doesnt mean I will abandon HDR, so dont worry you will still see some cool stuff in the next couple of weeks.
